Sarah Paulson: American Crime Story gave me a smoking problem

NEW YORK, April 1 (UPI) - Sarah Paulson's parts in American Crime Story: The People versus O.J. Simpson and American Horror Story impacted the performing artist's smoking propensities, she said amid her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The 41-year-old, who depicts lead arraigning lawyer Marcia Clark in Crime Story, said her character's steady smoking on the show has driven her to get used to the practice.

"I don't smoke at all in life," she told Colbert. "When we initially began I was hacking a great deal, and afterward inevitably I began to sort of - was similar to prepared for a smoke."

"It got me somewhat insane for the ciggies," Paulson kidded, including she additionally smoked in American Horror Story, which was shooting in the meantime. "It was a genuine circumstance."

The on-screen character, who is right now dating TV star Holland Taylor, additionally noted she is not watching The People versus O.J. Simpson while most of the nation does.

"I'm narrow minded I just kinda wanna hold up and watch myself," she said.
