The Nigerian Army has affirmed the seize of one of its senior officers, Col. Smaila Inusa, by obscure shooters in Kaduna State on Saturday night.
Addressing THISDAY, a dependable knowledge officer citing a Presidential source, communicated worry that the grab may be a vengeance mission by the Shiite Islamic group against the Army over the conflict in Zaria a year ago.
The source however guaranteed that security and knowledge offices are being activated to safeguard the missing officer.
The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Usman Abdul, who had affirmed the improvement in an announcement on Sunday, said that Inusa is presenting with Nigeria Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna State.
Abdul expressed that the colonel was snatched around Kamazo close NNPC intersection, Kaduna, around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"The abductors dropped off his wife and left with him in his auto and headed towards Abuja. They drove in a Mercedes Benz GK dark shading with enrollment number Abuja, KUJ 154 TZ," the announcement read.
