Dangote Set To Acquire Automaker Peugeot Nigeria

Aliko Dangote has made an offered for a greater part stake in automaker Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Limited.

Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Nigeria's Kaduna state, told writers on Thursday that Dangote is a key individual from a consortium that has connected to procure the dominant part stake in the organization which is at present possessed by Nigeria's state-supported "awful bank", the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

The consortium is comprised of Aliko Dangote, Kaduna and Kebbi states, and also the Bank of Industry (BoI).

"We have submitted offers for the auto producer with Aliko Dangote on board together with BoI, Kebbi and Kaduna State, we are certain our offer will cruise through," El-Rufai told a gathering, without giving further subtle elements.

Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria Ltd. (Skillet), a joint endeavor between the Nigerian government and the French automaker, was established in 1972 and is headquartered in Kaduna, Nigeria. The organization makes and markets engine vehicles under the brand name Peugeot. Some of its mainstream models incorporate the traveler autos 206, 306,307, 406, 607 and Partner, among others.

In the 1980s, PAN was creating 90,000 autos yearly and was beneficial. Be that as it may, a little while later, shabby, second-hand vehicles imported from Asia and poor assembling framework blocked the organization's benefits. The Nigerian government in this way sold off its controlling stake in the organization in 2006 to nearby center speculators. The new financial specialists attempted to keep PAN above water and collected awful advances all the while. In 2012 AMCON procured a controlling stake in the organization and assumed control over the organization's obligation. In any case, even AMCON has battled with the organization from that point onward.
