Durst is charged in the slaughtering of his author companion, Susan Berman. The joint understanding would require Durst to be removed from Louisiana, where he is presently imprisoned on a government weapon charge, by Aug. 18, as indicated by an announcement from the head prosecutor's office.
Durst's Houston-based legal advisor, Dick DeGuerin, issued an announcement that said, "The understanding we came to with the prosecutors in Los Angeles is a piece of Sway Durst's endeavors to go to trial in the Susan Berman murder case when the Louisiana charges are determined. Sway Durst does not know who executed Susan Berman and does not know who did. He needs to demonstrate his purity when he gets that risk."
A HBO arrangement titled "The Curse" highlighted Durst, 72, and the 1982 vanishing of his wife, Kathy, alongside Berman's passing in 2000. Berman was discovered dead in her home in the Benedict Gorge territory of Los Angeles.
